" The love we give away is the only love we keep" Elbert Hubbard
The best gift I could have gotten this weekend for my birthday is a GOLD medal win at the Olympics. Way to go Alex Bilodeau. What an awesome mogul run.
Today my friend Margot and her daughter Marron are attending the pairs figure skating at the Olympics. Aubrey is attending the men's 500 metres speed skating race. Both Margot and Aubrey are leaving Loonies for me at their respective events. When they get back I will share with you their story of where they left the dollars and pictures. I hope the leaving of the Loonies bring Canada good luck in their events and bring the Canadian athletes GOLD medals.
The creator of the ice at the Salt Lake Utah Games placed a Canadian Loonie below centre ice to bring Canada good luck. Canada went on the win both the men's and the women's hockey GOLD medals at the games and also the pairs figure skaters of Jamie and David won GOLD on the same ice. The Loonie is now in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
Today I found a car wash down the street that has a change machine. I will never be without a Loonie again. Woohoo!!!!!!
I wanted to leave my Loonie today somehow related to the Olympics. I found an Olympic souvenir program at the store and stuck a dollar in the spine. I hope someone buys that program soon and gets there Lucky Loonie.
There are many ways to give. The thought for the day to give. Next time you are at the grocery store leave some soup in the food bank box. You will feel so good after.
